On May 12, 2012, we have organized a training session on Laboratory Management for Junior High and High School Teachers. Lead speaker for this National Level seminar was Dr. Yunita, M.Pd (Chemistry Lecturer at Gunung Djati State University Bandung and Junior High Olympiad Chemistry trainer).

45 people attended this training session. They came from 7 provinces and 19 cities/residences throughout Indonesia: BANGKA BELITUNG Province (City of Pangkalpinang), CENTRAL JAVA Province (Cit of Semarang), BENGKULU (Kepahiang Residence), SOUTH SUMATERA Province (Muara Enim Residence), BANTEN Province (City of Cilegon), DKI JAKARTA and WEST JAVA Provinces (Kuningan Residence, West Bandung Residence, Karawang Residence, City of Bogor, Garut Residence, Majalengka Residence, Subang Residence, Sumedang Residence, City of Cimahi, Bandung Residence, City of Bandung, Tasikmalaya Residence and Cirebon Residence). During the event, they were also taken to take a tour around our factory to see our facilities and production process.

They were very enthusiastic attending this seminar as they were given the trainings so they have good skills in managing laboratories in their schools, arranging lab administration and lab materials in the form of laboratory bookkeeping and have good skills in using Scientific Studies laboratory equipments (Physics, Chemistry and Biology).

The hands-on practices that they went through including basic techniques in using chemistry equipments, the use of sulfuric chamber, how to make and dilute chemical substances, testing power supplies, testing the core of iron of a transformer model, the use of four-armed balance, basic meter and multimeter, how to use and maintain microscopes and introduction to digital microscope.

In line with the competence target, this laboratory management training used a one-day format and individual tasks that they have to finish in order to meet the 2 x 8 hours of training session.
